Suzuki Gixxer 250/SF250 Japanese 2023 Model Announced~

Suzuki has announced the 2023 models of its road sports models, Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF250, for the Japanese market. The only major changes are compliance with 2020 emission regulations and updated coloring. The new models will go on sale on February 23, 2023 (a national holiday) at prices of (approx.) 3600 USD for the Gixxer 250 and (approx.) 3845 USD for the SF250.

The Gixxer 250 is a mid-sport naked model that has been sold in Japan since 2020. Its 250cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine and compact, lightweight chassis that is easy to handle make it a popular model among entry-level users. Its full-cowl variant is the Gixxer SF250, which shares the powertrain and frame with the standard model, but has a combat-oriented full-cowl and separate handlebars. The headlight also has the longitudinally mounted style common to Suzuki's sports models.

The 2023 Gixxer 250/SF250 received minor changes from the previous model, including compliance with emission regulations and a new livery. The specifications remain almost the same, but the maximum output rpm has changed to 22PS/9300rpm on the new model. This is slightly higher than the previous model (22 PS/9000 rpm). Both the Gixxer 250 and SF250 will be available in two common colors, Matte Stella Blue Metallic and Matte Black Metallic. The previously announced India-spec Gixxer 250/SF250 features a smartphone linkage function and a lineup of new Exstar colors.Expectations were high for the introduction of this feature on the domestic model, but it appears that the 2023 model will not adopt these new specifications.

Both models will go on sale on February 23, 2023 (a national holiday) and will be available at authorized dealers nationwide. Pricing is set at (approx.) 3600 USD for the Gixxer 250 and (approx.) 3845 USD for the SF250, an increase of (approx.) 250 USD over the previous model.
