Mother and child hospital of Bingerville: 5 years already! March 16, 2018-March 16, 2023.

It's been five years the Mother-Child Hospital (MCH), built by the Children of Africa Foundation, opened, in the town of Bingerville, not far from Abidjan. At five years old, the baby is still a young institution. However, this non-profit hospital, with a capacity of 130 beds, already undoubtedly meets the objectives that were assigned to it at the time of its construction, namely to participate effectively in the care of the mother-child couple. This is an inseparable couple that the President of the Children of Africa Foundation, the First Lady, Dominique Ouattara, has taken time to measure the fragility during the numerous actions carried out in favor of children.

An advanced technical platform

The Mother and Child Hospital is above all, an ultra-modern hospital. "It was built according to international standards, and meets the evolving requirements of science and patients," say public health specialists. The care and services offered go beyond and beyond those of a classic maternity or pediatrics. Upstream, for example, reproductive problems are taken care of. In addition to mother and child, specialties such as ophthalmology, ENT, neurology and highly equipped medical analysis and imaging laboratories add to the offer.

The founder of the MCH is always looking for ways to improve the services offered to patients. Last year, she visited the Queen Fabiola University Children's Hospital (QFUCH) in Brussels, which was created in 1986 to "respond to specific needs" and remains the only Belgian university hospital entirely dedicated to pediatric care, from birth to adolescence. In its day-to-day work, the Mother and Child Hospital assumes social responsibility for those in need. It is positioned as a public service establishment of a university nature. Today, the Mother and Child Hospital of Bingerville is a renowned establishment, recommended, rightly so, to patients not only from Côte d'Ivoire but also to others from neighboring countries. Its reputation goes even beyond the African continent.

Witnesses

This is evidenced by the visits that several personalities of the world make there. On December 1, 2018, the former Brazilian international footballer, Ronaldinho went there. The former FC Barcelona player was amazed by "a great work of humanitarian scope". Two weeks later, on December 20, 2018, it was the turn of the First Lady of Rwanda. Jeannette Kagame visited the facility to see the grandeur of the work. Just recently, on February 14, 2023, it was Ms. Mariella Enoc, president of the Infant Jesus Pediatric Hospital in Rome, who visited the Dominique Ouattara Mother and Child Hospital. "You have a very high level hospital," she congratulated the First Lady. Before adding: "I know many hospitals in Africa. But I have never seen a hospital similar to the Mother and Child Hospital of Bingerville. The Mother and Child Hospital of Bingerville is a great hope. I hope it will become the Bambino Gesù Hospital of Africa. And I hope that the Mother and Child Hospital of Bingerville will be an example of a hospital that is open to all social strata and particularly to the poorest. It is a very beautiful hospital with health professionals and with an efficient operation". "We are available to see with you the challenges of the hospital, and to accompany you in your future challenges," said Ms. Mariella Enoc. Built by Mrs. Dominique Ouattara on high quality standards, and always aiming for the best, the Mother and Child Hospital of Bingerville already has an impressive stature, with very promising prospects for its patients.
