All About UIDAI
In a world where identification is important for access to various services, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) stands as a beacon of technological innovation and identity management.
The UIDAI is a statutory authority established under the provisions of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (“Aadhaar Act 2016”) by the Government of India, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
What is Aadhaar?
Aadhaar is a 12-digit randomly generated number, issued by UIDAI. It serves as a unique identification number and proof of identity and proof of address for Indian residents.
myAadhaar/UIDAI: Goal and Mission
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has a goal and mission to provide a special identification called Aadhaar to all residents of India.
Aadhaar is an ID that can be easily, quickly, and cheaply verified. It helps eliminate duplicate and fake identities that people sometimes use.
While the UIDAI plans to give Aadhaar to all residents, they are especially focused on enrolling poor people in India. Many poor people do not have documents to prove who they are. UIDAI wants to make sure each individual, especially the poor, can get an Aadhaar ID without any difficulty or harassment. Having a reliable ID like Aadhaar will help include poor people receiving government benefits and services meant for them.
UIDAI Login Process
To access the online facilities provided by UIDAI on its official portal of my Aadhaar, you have to login to the portal. To login to UIDAI website, follow the steps provided below:
- First, visit the official website of UIDAI which is myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
- Now, navigate to the “Login” option, available on the main page, and click on it.
- It will redirect you to a window where you need to provide your login details which is your “Aadhaar Number.”
- After that, enter the “Captcha code” and click on the “Send OTP” option.
- Now, an OTP will be sent to the number registered with your Aadhaar Card.
- Enter the OTP in the “Enter OTP” field and click on the “Login” button.
After following these steps, you can easily log in to your Aadhaar Dashboard from where you can access multiple facilities including bank seeding, PVC order, etc.
